Amazon Alexa is breaking out of the home.
HTC launched its flagship U11 smartphone in July with hands-free Amazon Alexa voice control and a unique squeeze-to-talk Alexa Voice Service implementation. Now customers can bring Alexa on-the-go and engage with the cloud-based voice service in a more natural way.
With the Alexa app on the HTC U11, you can bring the same voice control features you love at home on the road.
The HTC U11 is the world’s first smartphone to feature hands-free wake word access to Amazon Alexa once the phone is unlocked. By simply saying, “Alexa, turn on my air conditioning,” your home with will be nice and cool by the time you get home from work this summer.
Whether you’re at work, in the park, or at the beach, you can take Alexa on your HTC U11 with you, making it even easier to control your smart home, listen to Amazon Music, access Flash Briefings, managed To-Do lists, and enable thousands of Alexa skills. The HTC U11 is now available with Alexa voice control in the US, UK, and Germany.
Amazon first introduced Alexa via the Echo Family of Devices, enabling customers to control smart home products, access streaming media and entertainment services, and stay up-to-date with information and news. Now the Alexa Voice Service is enabling device makers to extend the reach of Alexa, introducing new use cases that show how a voice service that’s everywhere you want it to be can help you interact with the places and services you love while on-the-go.
